SMOOTHCOMP SYSTEM
We use Smoothcomp for all our tournaments. It is an amazing system!
If you already have a Smoothcomp account, we suggest you check to make sure all your information is entered into the system such as birth date, e-mail address, and mobile phone number.
Having a Smoothcomp account makes it very easy for you to stay updated with all the information needed on the day of the tournament such as brackets, schedule, and upcoming matches.
FINDING MATCHES ON SMOOTHCOMP IN 3 EASY STEPS

On the top of this page, you will see a link that will lead you directly to the brackets.
Once you go to the BRACKETS, you will see a top menu that has the following three items:
INFO - ATHLETES - MATCHES
Click on the "Matches" so you can apply the filter and search for competitor name.
STEP 2: APPLY FILTER

Apply the filter by typing the competitor's name. Scroll down and click SEARCH.
This will filter everything and only show the matches for the specific competitor.
We suggest typing the LAST NAME since there might be many kids with the same first name.
For even better results, you can type in the competitor's FULL NAME.

Once the filter is applied, you will see:

Done! That is the info you need! That simple!
We keep our brackets moving at a very fast pace!
So, competitors must be ready at least 2 hours before that scheduled time!

Please ensure competitors is registered for the correct weight class.

✅ YOUR CHILD MUST BE WEIGHED IN AT LEAST 2 HOURS BEFORE THEIR SCHEDULED BRACKET START TIME!
If your child misses weight, it affects our brackets and risks delaying the scheduled divisions. In case of missing weight, our staff will attempt to find a new bracket. However, we can't guarantee it will happen. Please don't miss weight!
Missing weight leaves kids who showed up to the tournament ready and excited to compete, without any opponents and a many other things affecting other competitors and their families. The first battle sometimes is with the scale. Make sure the competitor wins!!

Every YOUTH COMPETITOR will receive 1 (ONE) FREE GENERAL ADMISSION spectator ticket when they check-in on tournament day. Additional tickets are available for purchase online.
Kids under 10 enter for FREE!
Parents can also upgrade their free general admission ticket to a VIP ticket for only $40 on tournament day. This will require you give back your free general admission ticket.

The Alliance Jiu-Jitsu San Diego In-house Tournament will adhere to the standards of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) with a few exceptions to accommodate our tournament model.

BRACKET TYPES
✅ 2 Matches Guaranteed - Yes, every competitor will fight at least 2 matches!
These are the type of brackets we use for our tournaments:
➡️ Best 2 of 3, when 𝟮 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦 are in a bracket.
➡️ Round-Robin, when 𝟯 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦 are in a bracket.
Tiebreaker 1: Number of Wins by Submission
Tiebreaker 2: Fastest Submission (In Seconds)
Tiebreaker 3: Sum of Score in Winning Matches
Tiebreaker 4: Sum of All Opponents Score (Lower is Better)
➡️ Double Elimination with Bronze Match
When 𝟰 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦 are in a bracket.
REGISTRATION REFUNDS
UNLESS A REFUND INSURANCE IS PURCHASED WITH YOUR REGISTRATION, ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
If you purchased the REFUND INSURANCE and there is no appropriate match for your division, you will receive a FULL MONEY BACK REFUND.
If you DID NOT purchase the REFUND INSURANCE and there is no appropriate match for your division, you will receive a REGISTRATION CREDIT for the next tournament.
The REFUND INSURANCE is optional.
